Sportstech Festival - Technology

Technology is changing sports

8. August 2022

Venue Manager is attending Denmark’s first Sportstech festival: Technology is changing sports

Denmark’s first festival for sports technology will be held on 1 September 2022 in the Hafnia Sports Hall in Copenhagen. Here you can experience exciting presentations, networking, and power talks. In addition, there will be many exhibitors and leading people from the industry. The festival’s exciting program culminates in the Sportstech Awards in the evening.

The festival has a wide range of partners from the industry. This includes Dansk Erhverv, DIF and Venue Manager, who you can also meet on the day.

“Digitalization of sports, events and attractions is our main focus and heart cause at Venue Manager, and Denmark getting a Sportstech festival is fantastic because it puts focus on what technology can do for sports”, says Jakob Norgaard Mortensen, CEO at Venue Manager, who is particularly interested in how we create the best fan experience using technology.

At the Sportstech Festival, there are three tracks – Activity & Performance, Fan Experience and Management & Organisation – all three important facets of the evolution of Sportstech which the festival will focus on so that the industry can improve through knowledge sharing and innovation.

“We’re really looking forward to meeting the industry and seeing it together for the first time. We hope that a lot of sports clubs will participate and will go home enriched with new knowledge and new opportunities.”
– Jakob Norgaard Mortensen.

As up till now, sales modelling has focused on the patterns of groups and segments, but the technology allows for individual fitted sales models. Paradigm is switching from understanding customers, to understanding one customer at a time. Modelling the sale of ice-cream would most likely indicate that the majority buys more ice-cream when the temperature is high, and that has been effective knowledge, but what about that one person that buys an ice-cream every time he has been to the dentist, no matter the temperature?
