UNLIMITED Hockey

UNLIMITED on ice

20. May 2020

UNLIMITED is the name of the innovative concept that has not previously been seen in Danish sport – and Venue Manager delivers the solution behind it.

ONE subscription. ONE season ticket. NI hockey halls. Unlimited access! In short, this is the concept that will be realized in the Danish Metal League from the summer.

In the slightly deeper explanation, it is essentially about you as a hockey fan buying a season ticket for your favorite team. This is done on a subscription basis, which adds up to a significantly lower price than a traditional season ticket.

What is also unique in the concept is that the card also ensures access to all the away matches of your favorite team, if you want to follow the team’s matches throughout Denmark. Here you then get access to the away section or any so-called neutral zones.

But it doesn’t stop there! Die-hard hockey fans can also get access to all the matches that do not involve the favorite team, just as the subscription also gives access to national team matches on Danish soil – the latter on a first-come, first-served basis.

”It’s a sensational innovation in Danish professional sport”, says Thomas Bjuring, who as the Metal Liga’s commercial manager is one of the main initiators of the concept – and he continues:

“It is the first time in history that you can buy season tickets on subscription valid for all hockey halls, and the overall experience is simply better when you, as a spectator, do not have to take a stand every time there is a home game. You just enter your card and get your sports experience served without having to think about traditional ticket prices ”, insures Thomas Bjuring.

At Venue Manager, you are of course proud and excited to put a system in place for such a significant innovation:

” In our collaboration with the Danish hockey clubs, we have already helped to revolutionize it once, when a year ago we implemented Venue Manager’s solution at eight out of the nine hockey clubs.

At that time, the foundation stone was laid for an even closer collaboration between the clubs, and it has been super cool to make the last systemic adjustments that have made this new concept possible. The news emphasizes once again that Metal Ligaen are pioneers in terms of disrupting the traditional thoughts and ideas around tickets and season tickets – and we are proud to put our name behind these innovations , says Peter Richardt, Business Director at Venue Manager.

He also emphasizes that in order for the customer to get the best possible overall experience, there is a need for a very refined piece of software inside:He also emphasizes that in order for the customer to get the best possible overall experience, there is a need for a very refined piece of software inside behind:

“It may seem like a simple concept – and it should ideally also appear that way to the clubs’ customers. But when the concept e.g. must also support that UNLIMITED applies to all halls in the base game, but only to the home ground in the playoffs – and the latter even only if you have seen 80 percent of the matches in the base game at the club in question, where the card was acquired, this requires a certain level of competence within system architecture ”, ends from Peter Richardt.

As up till now, sales modelling has focused on the patterns of groups and segments, but the technology allows for individual fitted sales models. Paradigm is switching from understanding customers, to understanding one customer at a time. Modelling the sale of ice-cream would most likely indicate that the majority buys more ice-cream when the temperature is high, and that has been effective knowledge, but what about that one person that buys an ice-cream every time he has been to the dentist, no matter the temperature?
