Bus ticket included

In Germany, it is very common to use public transport when going to football matches, horse races, or other sporting events. Public transport saves time and hassle in traffic and parking and is also better for the environment. Therefore, transport tickets are often offered for free or at a reduced rate for sporting events.
It is now much easier to take advantage of this in Cologne. When you buy a ticket for a race, you can immediately get your free bus ticket included in the booking. Because Venue Manager’s newest customer in Germany, KRV, wanted to offer this service, our engineers worked with technicians from Systemtechnik GmbH, who are responsible for the bus ticketing system. Together, they cracked the code to integrate the two systems
The ÖPNV module in the Venue Manager platform is designed to be used by clubs throughout Germany, even though there are different public transport providers. This gives us a big advantage in the competition with other ticket providers, says Walter Ariesen, Business Director at Venue Manager.
For the Cologne Racing Association, the collaboration also offers great benefits. KRV’s racetrack is located on the outskirts of Cologne, which with over one million inhabitants has a large network of public transport. Now the barrier to visiting the historic course in Weidenpesch has been lowered. For example, a family can book race tickets and pony rides for the children and get tickets for free transport at the same time. KRV expects that this will get more people to visit the racetrack.
