New opportunities
15. December 2021
We are building and expanding at Venue Manager. A lot has changed in 2021 and there are new opportunities with great things on the way – so we look forward to the new year. It almost feels like getting to start over, even though we are far from needing a fresh start.
Our purpose continues to be to make it simple, straightforward, and efficient to arrange great experiences for people attending sports, events, and attractions. We firmly believe that experiences with people we care about help make life meaningful and exciting. They make us happy and give us a sense of well-being.
That belief has been strengthened by the COVID-19 outbreak, which has caused most people to do without that togetherness for a long period.
We still see that our platform can save our customers a lot of cost, increase their earnings, and greatly improve their customer service. We repeatedly witness this result with new customers. So, many things will remain unchanged, as the foundation of who we are.
New organisation og location
But other things are completely new. During 2021, we spun Venue Manager out of Combine, so the company is now 100% independent with its own management, owners, and board of directors. This provides a unique and dedicated focus on the company’s purpose and creates a good framework for growth and expansion.
We have also moved to our own premises with more space for the growing stock of cash registers, hand-held scanners, scanner boxes, and access turnstiles, as well as a training room and a showroom for the various solutions.
The new head office is in Aalborg’s industrial district close to the motorway and with easy parking. Both we and our partners benefit from this. Feel free to stop by for a cup of coffee at Hattemagervej 10, 9000 Aalborg.
We would very much like to present some of our new opportunities and products, as well as talk about new business opportunities – for you and for us.
New solutions
Venue Manager started with ticket and season ticket solutions. A lot of new opportunities has been added since then. We are constantly evolving based on customers’ needs and wishes. Today we offer four solutions:
Customer Management Platform (VM CMP) for handling customers, sales, and service. Here you manage tickets, season tickets, sponsors; sales of goods, food, and drink; and everything else that makes everyday life more efficient for you.
Access Control (VM ACCESS) for managing access control and customers at a location. The solution consists of a SaaS software solution for setup, control, and data management, as well as our hardware, scanner, and control box (VM ACCESS CONTROLLER), which scans tickets and cards, as well as controlling access turnstiles and other physical equipment. This is a brand-new product that was finished in version 2 this year. These boxes have already shown their worth, and have been sold to, among others, Universe Science Park, Dyrehavsbakken amusement park, and Aarhus Gymnastic Club.
Mobil App (VM APP) is our mobile app white label solution with mobile CMS, news module, ticket and card sales, eWallet and much more. This app is now used by many of our customers. VM APP will be released in a completely new version and a new design in Q1 2022
Point of Sale (VM POS). Cash registers tie our solutions together at a stadium, at a concert, or in an amusement park. The cash register solution is also sold outside our three core business areas through several partners. We have high expectations for this solution in 2022.
Both VM ACCESS and VM POS were added in 2021 and they were big projects to complete during the COVID-19 outbreak, with long waiting times for components and long response times from external parties. We are very proud of the result and of the finished solutions.
New customers
Despite COVID-19, many new customers have joined Venue Manager. Examples include the SønderjyskE Group (football, handball, and ice hockey), AiaSound Festival in Copenhagen, and Universe Science Park in Nordborg on Als. Despite the unfavourable times, new customers have also been added in Germany and England in 2021, including the Sheffield Sharks basketball club, the Cologne Racing Association, and European Dart, which is responsible for major dart events in Germany.
You are all very welcome, and we hope for a good and fruitful collaboration.
Nye clothes
In connection with our move, we have also changed our branding. Colours and fonts have been renewed and we have a new logo. We’re really happy about that.
The logo starts with a combination of a V and M. The arrow pointing down looks like a location arrow known from map solutions to mark a venue, an event, or an attraction. The two pieces on each side represent grandstands or a stage. They surround the place and set the framework for the event.
With the new logo we want to show that we are there where great things happen. We help create good, safe boundaries that provide direction and guide participants and guests to have a good experience. Nothing less.
We hope that makes sense. It’s our interpretation of the new logo – but your view might be just as good. What do you see?
New times
May 2022 be a fantastic year with many new, great experiences. We hope that words like shutdown, distancing, and quarantine become superfluous. And that we can again party, gather, and share experiences without reservation.
We would like to thank you for your good cooperation and community in the past year. And we look forward to much more cooperation and good community in 2022.
Hopeful Christmas greetings,
Jakob Norgaard Mortensen
