Sønderjyske & VM
16. September 2021
The sports organisation in Southern Jutland has teams in Super League football, ice hockey and both men’s and women’s handball. As well as e-sports. This combination is unusual and is therefore a unique task for the Venue Manager team, who are in the process of implementing ticket sales and the Venue App for SønderjyskE.
Combined solution across sports
Because we’re implementing a combined solution with interaction between the sports built-in. One of the big advantages is that SønderjyskE will be able to manage their customers across all four sports and gain insights into their fan base. For example, they’ll be able to see which football spectators also go to ice hockey matches. In addition, the club will be able to offer benefits to season ticket holders who would like to see other sports. A sponsor who supports SønderjyskE will be able to choose how they distribute tickets. So some customers and employees can go to women’s handball, while others watch ice hockey or football.
The marketing coordinator in SønderjyskE, Claes Dons Johansen, emphasizes that both the ticket platform and the app are user-friendly for fans and easy to work with for the club. He is particularly pleased that the Venue App also allows for service sales that provide added value for fans.
– It is easy to target offers. For example, when a spectator has an item in their basket, we can show them targeted suggestions for related items, says Claes Dons Johansen.
In addition to drinks for the hotdogs you have ordered – or vice versa – it can also be other items, such as snacks and other private label products.
Claes Dons Johansen also believes that it is extremely user-friendly that all purchases are gathered in the same place in the app, regardless of whether you go to football, handball, or ice hockey. Spectators who go to several sports just find their food and drinks in the Venue App wallet, and then they swipe to indicate that they are for football, ice hockey and so on. That requirement required additional development of the app.
– Venue Manager has been welcoming and flexible and developed the app so that it meets the special needs of SønderjyskE. High praise for the cooperation. There was a good dialogue with Peter from the start, and that continued as the technicians took over. We have always felt like we’re in good hands, says Claes Dons Johansen.
For SønderjyskE, it is important that the companies they do business with live up to the right values, and Venue Manager has done that.
Venue Manager Business Director, Peter Richardt, is pleased with the agreement with SønderjyskE. – We have other customers who have several teams. But it is something very special to have several teams in different sports. Since they have varying seasons and spectator conditions.
In addition to the ticket platform and Venue App, access control with hand scanners is also included in the agreement.
